Interesting Little Com-pew-tor Quirks...

I have breifly mentioned this before, about how there are these two little quirks involving this site and my computers (work and home). The first one is, when a thread is stuck to the top, it shows that there is a new post since I last visited, and it shows who made that post and when it was made. Interestingly enough, when I get into the thread, it was the same last post as the last time I was there. Now it's happening with Papa's beer poll post here in this forum. Outside it says last post by CAL at xx:xx on 1-13-2002. When I get inside, it's CAL's same last post from 1-8-2002. Just kinda weird. It usually only gets me once per thread since I try to commit to memory who was the last poster and how many posts there were. That part never changes, unless someone actually does post a reply. This happens at work and at home.

The other thing, and this only happens at work, is that when I click "back" or when a thread comes up after I reply, some of the icons and buttons are very muted in color. Kinda like I highlighted them by dragging over the whole page but different. They have a blue-ish hue to them. When I drag my cursor over the button, it pops back to full, regular color. Or if I use the scroll bar or mouse wheel to move the affected areas off the monitor screen, out of viewing range, and then back in, they are back to full brightness.

Work computer is Win98Plus! w/IE 6.0
Home is WinME w/IE 5.5
These are some strange little happenings. Granted, not life-threatening, but they do intrigue me greatly! Any ideas, anyone?:think

Don't have those problems here. Only thing I've noticed is, since Okie put the "Sponsored by" above the categories, sometimes the category boxes are mis-aligned. I hit refresh, and it fixes it right up.

Same problems here.

I also have a problem with the entire page not loading. Almost everytime I go to a page of DRN I have to hit Refresh in order to see the entire page.

I also lost all posting privelages at work when I signed up as a Support Team member. Okie tried everything to no avail. About a month ago, I regained my ability to post at work. Got scared there for a while...thought I was going to have to work or something.:D

I'm gonna keep my mouth shut. I just posted how I had regained the ability to post at work. I just lost that ability today. Back to no posting from work. It's torture to be able to read a post and then type up a reply and get a message that says "no forum specified".:(

I had the same problem with pages not fully loading and having to use refresh. I just upgraded to IE 6.0 and I haven't had that problem anymore. It took 1 hour to download everything but I like it. It also seem faster.

I just upgraded IE this morning and my problems are cured. I'm sure Okie is glad that I won't be hounding him anymore. Download took about 5 minutes on a T1.
