Inverted fork seal protection....

okay, I am getting tired of cleaning fork seals after every ride. They do fine until they get a lot of dust and dirt in them than leak. But seal fine once cleaned. This is a KDX250 with the 43mm inverteds FYI.

I suspect that the dust wiper spring is a bit loose. I have a new seat of seals and wipers, but I dont really have the desire to split the forks again anytime soon. so I have been cleaning, packing with grease over and over. I did take some safety wire and installed that in addition to the stock spring to keep more tension on the dust seals. See how that works out.

Here is the grease packing that helped a bit for sure:

I am headed out to Browns Camp to go riding tomorrow and I just got my seal savers. Neoprene covers for the fork. I will post some pics tonight of the install and units for you. THen hopefully have good news to report back for those with troubled seal tomorrow night!

Here is a link to the seal savers:

$19 to the door is cheap it they work! Anyhow more to come.

Matt,

Thanks for the mini article; I tried to have them installed when my forks were rebuilt this spring but MX Tech couldn't get them from supplier; a new winter project!
