I have been riding bikes and snowmobiles for years, just bought my first KDX to mess around with and take my nephem out in the trails a bit.

I just put a new FMF pipe, Boysen reed (607) and modified the airbox lid and am looking for a jetting baseline, I ride in Michigan from 0-1500 feet elevation.

Any help would be appreciated.

Which FMF pipe, the 30 (rev) or 35 (woods)? I have an '03 200 with similar mods except I have the Mototassinari Vforce II reed cage with reeds set on low tension, the 35 pipe and am at about 300ft above sealevel. I run a #152 main, #42 pilot, clip in 3rd position. This past weekend at 75 degrees and low humidity I was still a little rich on the main after doing a WOT plug chop. Depending on how fresh your top end is, I guess you could be running different. My friend with an '01 200 runs a #155 main and #45 pilot and is satisfied with his jetting.

Hope this helps. Welcome to DRN!

Jetting guidelines (and a whole lot of other information) can be found on CDave's website:

http://justkdx.com

Take a look at:

http://www.dirtrider.net/forums3/showthread.php?s=&threadid=48348

The peculiarities of:
  • A rider
  • A bike
  • A situation

..will dictate what the correct jetting is. No-one can tell you what it should be.

Guidelines are fine.....but realize they are indeed just that. A starting point.

The rev (-30) takes a richer jetset than the torque (-35).
