I Have a K-24 Fatboy pipe on my '91 250.
Its dented & seems to restrict some power.
?? Is the k24 set up 4 midrange or more Top end??
Also how much will the minor/moderate dents resrict power?
(pipe non repairable)
Low-end & mid-range hits hard, but lacking top-end
15tooth fr 48t rear
would love a 6th gear!

Repair the pipe for sure. Replace the seals from the pipe to the head. If you have not removed the airbox lid do that and drop the needle to the second clip.

If that is still not enough top end, then swap to the KX optional thin headgasket .26 vs .46 thick. That will raise compression and boost a bit up top. Expect to run premium only in the bike with maybe some octane boost.

Also inspect the reeds. Which ones do you have on the bike? I really like the FMF torque reeds. lot of low end but with a good top end still. I have some boysen dual stage I removed from the bike before riding it.

The other thing that I like personally is to run the splitfire 405d plug. Seems just a bit more harder hit and actually pulls more on top end.

Whats the best top end pipe 4 this motor&bike??
Thanks!!
