KDX frame

I have a 2000 KDX 200. Is this frame and a KX 500 frame the same? I am wanting to change somethings on the bike and the two look similar.

Similar would be the key word here. Typically, the KDX is built with a 125 sized frame, as the bottom end of its engine is the size of a 125 engine. 250 and 500 cc frames are bigger and longer, especially through the engine mounting area.

Wrong. Nothing similar about the kx500 and an H series kdx frames except the colors. The KX500 and the E series KDX frames are almost the same. And as you can see, the e and h series kdx's are completely different. E series KDX and kx500 are single down tube, H series KDX is perimeter framed.

Thanks guys, I am wanting to change the rear fender and UFO told me that some people have had good luck with the KX 500 fender. I know Maier make a replacement but I was told it also has holes for the light and I can get a 500 fender a for a lot less money than what the Maier cost.

kx500 fender will work for 89-94 kdx only. Not 95+.
