Don't worry about the KDX holding back your talent. KDX's are competitive at the highest levels of riding. I know of a guy that has a bunch of ISDE gold medals riding a KDX.
One of the best things about the bike is that you can send the motor and suspension to tuners and have a bike that is taylor made for your riding style and still spend less then you would for a KTM or MX bike.
