kdx/kx conversion

Project dream # 9999. year 2000 something KX 125 with a KDX 200 motor. I loved my 2001 KTM 200 and my current 2004 CRF250R, but the KX/KDX combo might be the perfect combo of light weight, smooth power and good suspension for eastern enduros. Anyone ever tackle this project before ?

Theres a good handful of people that have done this mod. Another cheaper way out is to fit a set of newer USD forks off a KX to the KDX. Jeff Fredette is someone you should probablly talk to about the KX conversion.

Absolutely love it.
2000 KX125 with a 96KDX200 motor.

Oh man that bike is sweet. :laugh: I really want one and the KX 125's are super cheap around here. Was a lot of cutting and welding involved ? I see the pipe looks like it is custom made. I guess any KDX motor from 1995 on will fit my needs. I've herd the KDX motor has'nt changed much since then. Thanks guys.

Wow that 240 big bore sounds like a good deal for a KX conversion. Has anyone had experience with Eric's 240 kdx motors. Are they reliable ? Peaky or torque monsters ? I've used his big bore kits on a YZ144 (very nice) and a KTM212 (not very good).
