Kick Start Assmbley no manual

Hey,
I dont have a manual for my bike. I was wonder in the kick start is there a spring that pushes the the ball into the little whole? My kick start always swings out at me. All i have it the little ball and it doesnt seem to hold the kick start in. please help.

yes, but they wear out over time. On my xr600, I found a few O rings at work and shoved them into the hole there to tighten things up. Keeps it from swinging out and rattling.
