Did a search and got nothing. Do any of you have a persistant oil drool at the bottom of the kips shaft boot? Is it a problem or just normal? Thanks---Jay

You both have a bad oil seal, probably on the right side of the cross-shaft that is turned by the pawl at the end of the centrifugal advance rod. Comprende?

No.

If your KIPS looks like this (attached), there won't be any dripping of anything. Well, from the top, anyway. This is after (yep) almost four years! Comes from decent jetting (sandblasting notwithstanding ;) ) and decent oil.

Look in buykawi for a parts diagram.

You'll find the shaft has a seal on the tranny side.

...if that's where it's coming from.

Yes, there is a seal on the main shaft of the KIPS, too.

Capiche?

CC---I'm guessing the leak is at the top end as it looks just like the black spooge that would come out of your pipe with rich jetting---and nothing like the honey colored brand new oil in the tranny---oh, if you would please pm me your photos of said parts as I am unable to view. thanx, Jay
