kips noise?

i've searched so dont flame, my noise happens at a diffrent time not at idle but when i rev it and let off i make a click or ping sound. havent taken the kips cover off but have taken the head pipe off and all looks good but there is carbon on the valve when you look in the cylinder. the bike runs great but makes this sound. any help woud be great thanks.
