I'm getting closer than ever to purchasing a KLR 650 for use as my road/adventure bike. Especally with the 0% financing offer. Today I read an article on Motorcycledaily.com that mentioned the Kawasaki/Suzuki merger and one of the things they are supposed to colaberate on is dual sport bikes. Basically I don't want to buy a bike if it might be dropped from the line up. The KLR 650 has been around since 1987, and was produced as the KL 600 before that. Anybody have any insight as to what might happen? Would anybody hesitate to buy something if they figure the replacement can't be too far off?

Don't read to much into the Suzuki/Kawasaki collaberation. Go get that KLR650, for under $5k it is a great deal. This is a great tourer, and does well on the trails. If you are looking for a more dirt oriented bike, you may want to look at the Husqvarna TE610.

You will be very happy with the KLR.
