While racing this weekend, I was clipped in mid-air by the rider in front of me. While the fall wasn't that bad since it was a small jump, the rider directly behind me ran over my knee. Happened very quick, I can't blame the flaggers, they were some of the best I've seen. Anyways, I immediately limped off the track, because I didnt want to get run over again. I looked at my knee, and it was pretty cut up, and a bit swollen. My P.O.S. Thor knee guard was cracked at the top.

Well, it swelled up a lot over night. I have been icing it all day, didn't go to school. It hurts a little while laying down, but is very, very painful when bent or straightened. Putting weight on it hurts a little bit too. The swelling is on the top, and outside of the knee. I am hoping that it's just a bad bruise. Could anyone provide any info on this? Should I see a doctor about it? I just want to double check to see if anyone thinks it is broken or torn.

Thanks,

Matt

YES!

Don't wait it could be serious. The pain you are feeling is probably from fluid building pressure inside. Your injury sounds like a soft tissue one but also sounds strangley similar to when I hyper extended my knee. I had to have fluid drawn out and the cancher mechanic that did it scraped my knee cap. I now have a pretty good barometer :)
