To all of the 200 club members:

I sold my 09 200 xcw to a really nice guy from the Grand Rapids area. I had traded the stock spring for a heaver one when I bought the bike because my partner and I weigh 190/220 dressed. Anyway the guy is only 140lbs. or so and he really could use the stock or a lighter spring. I kept and gave him the stock fork springs.

If any of you would want to trade a lighter or the stock shock spring please reply and I will hook you up. I am not sure exactly what spring is on the bike now but, I can find out quickly.

Thanks

Salgeek,

That is great - good karma coming your way soon

I sent Mike (the new owner) a note.

Note: I fell in love with the "langston" PV setting on that bike

Thanks

I have a 6.3 also if he's a light azz that might be even better for him. What spring are we trading for?

I do not know what spring is on it now, but Mike is signing up as a newbi DRN'r and is waiting for approval.

Mike - put the bike on a stand and spin the spring around until you can see the numbers on it, then these guys will know what you have. You also should look in the book and find what spring is made for your weight.

Most likely you put a 7.2 or 7.6 on it. for 200 +lb guys

If the person that bought your bike thinks 6.6 is a suitable rear spring - IMO he will need to run .38 fork springs to keep things balanced Front to Rear. The EE chart I have indicates the '09 200 XC came with .42 fork springs. [I'm new to suspension tuning so seek other opinions]

For reference: '09 200 XC-W
160lbs [180lbs w/ gear]

.40 (stock) | 6.9 (6.6 stock)
