I just bought my wife a '05 KX-100. After test riding it, I decided that she/we HAD to have it! I'm 180 5'10" and it pulled me around with plenty of authority. I'd even say it ripped! I was sold. I can't wait to play on it this year! Whenever she isn't on it, I will be. Nice bike. I wish I had one when I was 13.

We have a KX85 with a 100 top end. The bike is a blast and has ample power but it slides out from under me on fast turns. I'm more likely to kill myself on it than my 500. I'm 5'9" @ 175 lbs. If the 100 has bigger wheels it would probably handle better.

A 125 turns better than a KDX200. In fact, my GasGas EC200 is VERY nimble. I'd say go with either a 125 or else a KTM200EXC or GasGas EC200. The KX100 is a cool bike, but I know I'd get bored after awhile.

i would go for either a 125 or a two stroke 250. after what ive seen maintenance whise on a big four stroke bike, i might be on a two-stroke 250 at 15 or 16! definetly look at a 125(try kawasaki and yamaha). my dad is 6' even and 185lbs. and he can ride my kx 125 fine. look at both of them though.

Just FYI I know a guy with a built KX500 (now 550) motor in a KX80BW frame. That would certainly surprise a few people. He's been talking about selling - let me know if your in the market and I might be able to get you in touch with him.

For the record my wife has an 03KX100 and likes it very well. I added a 12oz flywheel weight which made a big difference in how well it hooks up. It also has a stroker kit, ported cylinder, R&D rear link, R&D .39kg fork springs, 5.4kg (IIRC) shock spring etc. Amazingly fun bike for me to play on and the perfect bike for her.

Here's a pic of it - click for bigun

I've been thinking about a smaller bike to have fun on and I recently sat on a KX100...It actually felt really comfortable as compared to barely being able to touch the ground on my CR250...I just think it would be a blast hitting berms full blast, leaned over, and with the throttle pinned using every ounce of juice the KX100 has...Something so light an flickable that you can actually get both feet planted on just gives you confidence especially if you're on the short side...

I'm 5'8 160lbs...It could be an idea...
