Howdy,
I was wondering if anyone knew any tricks to getting a KX steering stem out of the KX 250 Bottom Clamp. I have been using a press and it doesn't seem to work, I tried heat, I tried soaking it in PB Blaster, I pounded on it with a hammer and socket too. What way is the stem supposed to come out? I have been trying to push on it from the bottom of the Clamp and its not budging. I have put enough force on it to where the bottom clamp has started to bow. Anyone have any tricks or technigues that can help me out??Thanks

P.S. 1993 Steering stem/Forks and 1998 KDX 200

wrong way!

You need to put the clamp in the press as it would mount on the bike. Then press the stem down! There is a metal O ring in there that keeps the stem from being installed to far upwards.
