Have an 03 KX85, shortly after cranking it up, coolant starts coming out of the radiator overflow tube. Any suggestions, troubleshooting tips ? Thanks.

check the head gasket, could be pushing from the cylinder into the water jacket

After filling the radiator, there is excess coolant. As the engine warms, the coolant will expand and come out the overflow. It is normal for this to happen the first time the engine gets hot after filling it with coolant. On tight, technical trails your engine will get hot as well and it is normal to see some loss of coolant then as well. This is why enduro bikes have reservoirs so they can recover the overflow.

Good call guys, thats what it was, coolant leaking into the piston area.......found a small puddle on top of the piston upon removing the head. I have cleaned and rebuilt everything, hope this cures it. Thanks.

if there is carbon bilud op on the rings that will make more compression which will push the fluid out of the overflow

o noticed that on my 87rm 80, there is a seal where the water pump connects to the clutch cover. there is like a third of the metal part around the seal that is missing. Would this casue coolant to leak out of the overflow tube on the water pump?
