Yes, riding areas are limited and we have to deal with the nutty red/green sticker issue. But days like today remind me that life here is not all bad for dirtbikers.

It is 84 degrees out, sunny and crystal clear. Riding conditions should be excellent this weekend..........

That said, I'd still move to another state if I could make the move compatible with work.

Shorts and a t-shirt today....

I ride a 97 so I dont need to mess with the sticker crap.....

Left CA and swore I would never come back. Well that only lasted a year.

I hate most of the people, I hate the traffic and I hate the prices but I will never leave again.

I was refering to California. There are some pretty rude people here.

Example... .. One day while getting a hair cut I waited about an hour and there was a lady who came in after me. Well her small child was getting pretty antsy so I offered them my place in line. They finally called my name and the lady just got up and walked through with her kid. It just annoyed me that I didnt get a simple thank you.

It happens all the time when I hold the door open for people. I probably receive some sort of thank maybe 30% of the time.

As far as traffic goes I luckily hardly ever need to use the freeway. I never venture west to Los Angeles so I avoid most of the traffic.

The only other state I lived in was AZ and I must admit I liked it. If for some reason I had to leave CA I would most likely end up in AZ.

I dont know exactly why...even with all the annoying things I mentioned above, I do enjoy living here. Maybe it has to do with being 1 hour from the coast, 45 minutes from the mountains and the ability to ride my bike with 30 minutes of my house year round.

Yup, yup, yup!! It was gorgeous today!! mid 70's to low 80's. I've busted out my summer work wear. Only thing that sucks about this weather is having to be inside! Why can't I just move my desk outside?! :whiner:

I know what Jeff means. It's like living in a trap. It's expensive as all get out here (Santa Barbara). About 4x as much as most of the midwest and the people can be rude but man, you just can't beat living in the beautiful mountains overlooking an ocean that will take you only 15 mins to get to, hiking, kayaking around the islands, surfing, all rear round riding, I could go on forever. *sigh*

Goin' riding tomorrow. It should be just perfect! (well, a little dry maybe) ;)

Yeah, Cali's a love-hate deal, for sure.:(

The whole time I was there (training in San Diego), I wanted to leave. Now that I'm here, I want to go back.:uh: Well, kinda. I've got a job offer there, no problem--but it would be with my best friend.

You know though, honestly I didn't think people were that rude. In fact, some of the best people I've ever met came from there. I think you'll get the hurried, selfish interaction no matter what big city you're in.

Out here, people get pissed if you don't wave back. Now that definitely won't happen in Cali. Took a long time to get used to that (again).

You know, there still are some real good people still around, you just have to find them. I still wave and say thank you no matter if I get one in return. I try and not let it bother me because some people you can't change. A little spirit of "aloha" goes a long way. Ever see the movie "Pay It Forward"? Great movie, great idea. We still have the best weather around and having to put up with the wackos is a give and take!

P.S. By the way 89r, spent the morning with your son-in-law. Nice guy, hope we can help him!

Ya, ya, ya, ya....... but I'm still here now. :)
I don't mind trying something new. Who knows maybe the fact that the cost of living is about 1/4 what it is in SB will be enough to offset everything else.. (ya right!) ;)
