The reason is Humans inhabited Mars thousands of centuries ago. As inhabitants of the planet progressed in technology, utilizing fossil fuels and aerosol antiperspirant, the atmosphere deteriorated and just before the weapons of mass destruction were released, a handful of fugitives in a rag-tag fleet of spaceships colonized the Earth. They actually landed 1st just outside of Roswell New Mexico but migrated to Asia. When Windows 20,000BC crashed, all data was lost because of inferior backup storage devices so civilization had to start over. Now that we've almost returned to point, which we were, we are exploring Mars for possible colonization. I've always said, "What comes around goes around." :)

Alan, are you saying that humans living on Mars wouldn't live as many years as they would on Earth?

three score and ten would translate into 38 martian years, and 145 martian days  - mind you, if Mars travels around the sun at a faster speed, then you would live longer !!! :) - or at least, you would age slower !!!!
