Lighting Coil Output?

I was just wondering if anyone knew what the rated voltage output of the stock lighting coil should be. I tested mine and I'm only getting about 9vac no matter what the engine RPM. It's forcing my visionx light to go into low power mode. :(

Hi mate, do a search. You should find info on this from old threads.

Stock is AC voltage. You need a regulator/rectified to get the DC power you need for your light according to VisionX's site.

I have the voltage rectified and filtered going to the light itself. My concern was the stock voltage coming out of the stock regulator. I'm only getting around 8-9volts AC. Thank you for the reply.

Maybe your regulator/rectifier has gone bad.

They have aftermarket ones that might be better built and cheaper than OEM. Check with a dualsport company like Baja Designs - I bet they have one.
