Great ride yesterday. I did my best to not let Woodsy lead, but he had me out geared on the snowmobile trail. He only had us going the wrong way twice. :coocoo: Thanks for all the enduro info, I think I might have to try one this year.

Trail Conditions???

What were the trail conditions like? I hope to get out next weekend for sure. I prefer the "less snow" areas, I have more fun.

Trail conditions were very similar to last weekend. Freddy you missed a great ride.
From 7 mile staging the ground was all dirt, we were allmost to Caberfae before the buildup started, North of there had alot in spots, thin in others. About 5 miles out Don had a jetting hickup in a high speed whoop section, nose dived and buried the brick in the face of one. Slow Joe hot on his tail somehow managed to stop just before rolling those spiked tire over him.
Shortly after Trashrider lost the use of his clutch, setup error installing the bark busters on the new EXC200. I offered a fix but he declined, said riding without the clutch would be good practice. That should tell you something about Trash.
Tim riding a new 400EXC with no studs. Don't know how he did it. He didn't just tag along, he was fast.
Reached Boon at 2:30 had a snack and gassed up. I packed enough 2 stroke oil for 2 gallons, confident that I could make it back Trash and Woodsy split it up. Trash used most of it, I guess he felt the need for a little extra range.
To make it back by dark we needed to cut some time so we rode the snowmobile trails for about 20 miles. Tim with no studs was all over the place, think he only went down once, should have been 20 times, the guy can ride. Sure gets cold on the higher speed open stuff.
To be continued

We hopped back on the Single Track at the Snowmobile bridge. After a couple of miles the heat comes back into your body and we were running hard. Trashrider took the lead and vanished into the distance. Cmore and I were sticking together, I hit reserve about 5 miles out. Back at the staging area getting the vehicles warming up, realized we were missing someone, no Trashrider. After about 30 minutes its totally dark and the search parties went out. All of us were low on fuel some didn't have working headlites and we had no idea where he took a wrong turn, those are big woods and it was cold. At 6:45 we took a vote, 3 said leave him, 4 said we'll give him until 7 then leave him. At 7PM as we were pulling out a Blonde waitress from Club 37 driving a pickup loaded with Trash and his Bike pull into the staging area. He's a survivor, can find a big blonde even in the most remote terrain. We wrapped up a great ride with dinner at Club 37 with our favorite Blonde waitress taking care of us again. I think she did well with the tip. And Trash was running on reserve, seems to have put just the right amount of fuel in at Boon.
This was the first time meeting Woodsy, everything people say about him is true. He's a character and has some game on that KX500. Don't let him lead though.
Next weekend seems a ways away, I'm open, what ya say. :ride:

Man what a fun ride! 74 miles. :nener:

As TCT said I think Joe has it out for me, last time he showed me the spikes over my shoulder this
time my head, but as always fun to ride with. Let me know when you want to do an enduro.

Woodsy was as entertaining as ever, made several wrong turns just to live up to his reputation. Had me worried when it was getting dark and he started talking about squirrel.

Leave it up to Trash to get lost in the north woods and have a woman pick him up, and then wanted to keep him! :aj:

If you ever have a clutch go out hope you have "don't need no stinkin clutch" DW with you to ride your bike for you.
Great riding with a great group.

Next ride let Joe lead you and then "Show him some of that front trelly" in a few of the corners and rub the back sides of his boots a little, that might back him off a bit.

Don't take no crap from these damn kids there fellow SS/AA rider!

It's funny that Fred mentions this.... There was some lengthy discusssion during our ride Saturday about Don moving up in rank and having some "concerns" about another, ummmmmmmmm, shalll we say "shorter in stature" competition.. Of course, all us kiddies had some advice for Mr. Marsh about how to handle said competition :rotfl:

Now Woodsy don't stir the pot. I don't remenber any "lengthy discussion"
Fred, I didn't tell them about the secret weapon mod Napper was working on for you.
You missed a great ride, and a chance to do the "senior citizen boogie"

Don Don Don...... You gotta be careful when playing mind games with your competition.... Ohhhhh brother, why do I even try to help.... Sometimes being a Woodsy is very difficult.. ;)
OK, let me explain to you how this works.. You let your competition KNOW that there are things in the makings that are, shall we say, not in their best interests.. Then, at the right time, sayyyyyy, two days before a ride/race you drop subtle hints that your ready to implement the ideas...
Some, not all, but some competitors will get so geeked that they will make little mistakes like forgetting to turn on their gas and such, some REALLY nervous types may even stay home out of fear....
Like I was telling you guys... I have never ran an enduro so maybe enduro folks are different then H/Sing or MXing types in this reqard.. But, maybe it would have worked too.. :nener:

He tried that a couple miles down the trail. I could hear him trying to yell at me over them squeeling brakes.

Even though it ended that I was the youngest one on this ride, I didn't think I qualified for the kid category any more.
