i am looking for a yz125 so i can give the mx track a try, i curently ride a xr250 in the woods only and love it. while looking for a 125 i found what looks like a great deal on a wr400, it is a 2000 and i bet i could get it for 3k, it is in great shape with a few extras. i know this is a woods bike but what is the diference between the wr and the yz? could it be riden at the track, my xr can't, it doesn't like to fly. i am thinking that i should stick with the yz125 but it is hard to pass on something that looks like such a good deal.
thanks

For 2000 the YZ was a 426, I'm not sure if the WR was 426 that year. The main difference was the suspension, which on the WR is softer for woods riding. Also it has the bigger tank, a coolant overflow tank, milder ignition curve, heavier flywheel, lights, and (I think) and 18" rear wheel. I don't think it would make a good MX bike, but is a good machine none the less. I have a friend who can beat me on the track, he rides an XR400 and I ride a YZ426, so the machine doesn't always matter that much. I think some people are just naturally fast. But for MX I think most would be happier on a YZ.
