Buddy of mine can score a condo in Taos/Red River for practically nothing. So we are heading out there in August from Louisiana to go ride. I am a single track junkie and I'm looking for the scoop on where all the good stuff is.
I did some research and found out about the Jemez area and Tres Ritas. I have also saw something called the "Dome Wilderness" area. Is there some good stuff within a 2 hour drive from Taos/Red River? Are there maps that show single track on them?
What month will these areas be clear from snow?
What tire do you recommend? Maxxis I/T?
Anyone interested in leading us on some good long B level rides? Maybe for 2-3 days? I will bring some Mardis Gras beads and some gumbo for you
Oh, at least three of us will be on 2 strokes that have a range of approx 60 miles. So this wouldn't be a dual sport type ride. Although, we could rent some dual sports and make day 3 a fire road day. That would be cool. :ride:
