As mopowa is suggesting, it's all about being smart, NOT focusing on "low fat". Just cut the damn junk out, eat healthy, etc.
I'm a doc, & know the intrinsics of metabolism pretty well, but I stay out of this forum for a couple reasons. 1) There are several on here that are routinely correct (I'm not needed), 2) I didn't come here to talk nutrition.
Just don't want you to focus on low fat. It's fairly well-documented that America is getting FATTER on a low fat diet, etc... and cholesterols & heart disease rates aren't moving, or in fact, getting worse. I don't have the time to discuss this right now, but would be glad to later.
Remember, a tsp of olive oil a day keeps the cardiologist away...:silly:
