I am mx racing this weekend and it will surely be a mud fest. It rarely rains in SoCal but when it does we go big. The track will definately be a mess.

What are the rules of thumb for setting up your suspension for a mud race?

Thanks,

Stiffer is better. The bike will collect mud and gain weight, as it does the suspensiion will get loaded and handling sluggish.

Michellin S12 for a rear tire is an excellent choice for eastern mud. Double rim locks and low tire pressure 10-11 psi.

Hand protectors are a good idea to keep your hands and grips as clean as possible.

Good Luck!
