well, we packed up and headed out friday night around nine. arrived about 12:30am and found the last spot... sweet...
headed out with my brother ( who loves his new kdx, btw )
and my nephew with his new jr80... the trail was nice, lots of places to play ride, managed to eat a plug riding at jr's pace.
My dog never really goes anywhere with me as most of my trips are overnight last second idea's... this time he goes. he was so stressed out he started to pass out, had to bottle feed him water for about an hour... he came around.
dnr came by and i asked how to get to the ogemaw campground, my buddies were jumping ramps for the day over there. the lady said she would follow me down houghton creek road if i wanted, so i did.. that was cool.
when i got back my brother and i rode a hot lap around the loop. great trail, tight and technical...
the kdx suites my brother fine, he was fast on his ttr250 but on fire with the " kicker "
the mcr suspension my rm250 works amazing and this thing is a mogul monster. I do need about 10oz of flywheel weight though and run an 8 plug. it's jetted for 50/50 sunoco 110 and sunoco 93... manages to load up after a few moments of slow paced woods weaving.
here's the fun part:
we get back and my family is in a tizzy. they took tyson out for a jaunt through the woods and he either ate some poison oak or a bug he was not supposed to.. his whole body broke out into welts, eyes almost swollen shut and his head swelled two times it's normal size. i loaded him into the truck and raced off to find an emergency vet.... called 911 at a pay phone and got a number in west branch. called only to find a recording for the on-call doctor. called from my cell ( verizon sucks ) he calls about five minutes later, only to hear static. i called the number back from a land line and it just rings. i have no choice but to load everything up and blast home. i gave tyson 10milligrams of clariton from my kit hoping he would make it home. we got home about 1:30 and he was good. all the welts went down and his eyes were normal. i watched him overnight and he's fine.
now that i'm home, i get to start on the honey-do list.. what a great vacation.....
