Just wondering, anyone planning on going?

Looks like there is a change in weather for the extended forcast, slight chance of rain and cooler.

I was planning on it and I just found out my kids baseball league has pushed opening day to the 17th. So I need to find out what time their games are, then decide if the whole family is going or just me on Sunday.

Hey Eric, can you fill me in on the details? I'd like to come out. What will I need to bring? AMA card? Wad-o-cash?

I'll help you with that Wad-o -Cash :aj: A little Texas Hold Em perhaps? I'm playing in a card tourney on Friday night.

I'll be out there Saturday, either early with the Family or Late by myself. I have a Company golf outing I'm trying to get out of that morning.

FYI I believe Thumbs and Bundy are coming up as well.

Chris, I bumped up my jetting to a 38p and 172m as my bike was running very hot the last few events. What a difference. It has alot more power down low and revs out higher on top. I tested it in Gorman last week. No overheating/ boiling over to speak of. It doesn't seem to bog at all. I was actually thinking of going down to a 50 or 51 rear sproket to smooth it out a bit. It has a 52 stock. Did you pick up that needle you were telling me about?

I think that is going in the right direction, just need to get rid of the NOZx series needle to have a clean off idle and more mid, that is if you want more mid  The NOZx needle is quite lean in the 3/8 to 3/4 in clip 1. I have a needle you may want to try after the ride on Sun if you want to play alittle.

Ill be there prolly early Sun, unless I decide to pitch tent on Sat eve.

Thanks, scar.:thumb: Does TWMC follow AMA enduro rules or something different? Is it safe to assume the 20 minute break is the gas stop?

Can you elaborate on the scoring above? Did you drop one minute and one hundred and eight ten-thousandth of a minute? Pretty impressive.

Yeah, we use real accurate clocks.

No, the number to the right of the decimal point is the total # of tie-breaker seconds. If you add up all of the seconds from the individual checks, they add up to 108. The tie-breaker seconds always count from 30 seconds into your minute. So the check that shows 0.012 means Tim was either 18 or 42 seconds into his minute. The check with 1.068 means he was 38 seconds into the minute after his. Clear as mud, huh.

Usually the trailbosses try and stick to AMA rules. If they have to bend them, they will usually let you know at the riders meeting Sunday morning. Usually...

Back when Rick Daniels was in the club, he used to hold the April Fools enduro. He'd always throw some wrinkle in the rules just to keep you guessing. One year he listed on the flyer that he was following AMA rules, but told us at the meeting that AMA stood for American Mudbog Association...

Oh, and the 15 and 20 min breaks should be back in camp (Timbo has already said it's a 17.1 mile loop).

Mostly we use Sundials for timekeeping. I find that if you duct tape a stick at a 45 degree angle to your front fender and point your bike 24 degrees north, you can read your spokes for the correct time. Just don't do it while riding a wheelie. It thoughs the whole system out of balence. It's math like this that kept me out of the really good schools. :moon:

No nick covered the real answers to your questions. But that wheelie thing really does through your time keeping off. This is my first year with a computer and I enjoy it very much. we'll see you out there.

Did anyone program their computer yet and verify this? My watchdog has a different time starting at mile 22.4 ? Through 20.0 it right on at 1:10. But when verifyied to 22.4 my computer goes to 1:18.15 not 1:16 as posted on the time sheet. I've triple checked my entries. Either the time sheet or my computer is wacked.

Ill see what I come up with.

Also, I was going to do the sheet again using the chart software, Ill see if that does the sheet different.

From looking at it more closely, my guess is the charts right and I entered something wrong that I cannot find. I'm going to clear out my computer and enter everything from scratch.

I tried to enter this last night, and I noticed that the roll chart program doesn't have the option of a jump (basically a zero-time reset). A reset to 0.0 consumes no-time by definition, but any other reset eats up as much time as the reset mileage would take to ride at the current speed average (sorry, don't really know how to say this any clearer).
I modified the entries a little to make this work out by doing the following:

For the first reset, I did the following:

Instead of:
18.7 speed 24
19.1 free time 15
19.1 jump to 20
(not an option in that program)
20.0 speed 24

I entered:
18.7 speed 24
19.1 free time 14
19.1 speed 54
19.1 reset to 20
20.0 speed 24

For the second reset, I entered:
36.7 speed 24
37.1 free time 14
37.1 speed 29
37.1 reset to 40
40.0 speed 15

The key times all work out if you do this, and it doesn't really change where the possible checks are. Note that the first reset consumes 1 minute, and the second consumes 6 mins, so you have to adjust your free times accordingly.

If the watchdog doesn't allow "jumps" (they may call them something else), then you may have to do this same thing for your program. I'm pretty sure that the ICO allows jumps, so none of this is necessary... but I'm not positive.

See you out there.

Thanks Andy. Your one smart Enduro Feller.

Question: For the future, how would we know there was a jump? it's not listed on the orig roll chart or time sheet? Do we just guess? I was getting ready to send my watchdog back in to be re-calibrated.

I noticed these because the resets only had "to" mileages. Normally, Tim's rollcharts have "from" and "to" mileages, ie:
reset from 19.1 to 20.0

Instead, he only listed:
reset to 20

Once I saw this, I looked at the key times, and noticed that the reset consumed no time. Like I said, I would of called this a "JUMP" instead of a "RESET", and I'm not really sure if it is 100% AMA legal.

BTW, I looked at the ICO manual, and they do allow these. But they call them "LEAPS".

Scar, were you able to re-enter in the dog with the jump or leap, I dont see anything in the manual on it, but I just skimmed it now.

Thanx for the info Andy.

Thanks again Andy, I noticed that also, I just didn't know what it meant.

Chris, Andy's program works. change the entries to what he typed and it verifies to the last reset on loop 3. Andy didn't give us the info for that reset, so we'll have to figure it out out there. FYI even though the last break time is 20 minutes only enter the 14 minute as listed. I thought it was a typo and entered 19. 1 minute early just like the previous 15 minute break. it didn't work but 14 does. I'll see you out there this afternoon.
