Ok I have been trying for the last 4 hours to remove the wheel bearings on the rear wheel of my 96 KX 250. I have removed all the circle clips (there was only one that I saw) and have been trying to tap them out from the inside. However I have gotten no where. Even after heating the hub up with a oxy-acetaline tourch I have not gotten anywhere. the bearings havn't even budged. What am I doing wrong??? This is driving me crazy, is there a wheel bearing removal tool that would make this easier? I have checked at auto zone and they told me that they know of no such thing. How do bike shops remove them? Any advice would be great.
First, you shouldn't use a torch to heat the hub. The spokes will losen.
Just heat a rag in water in your microwave and wrap it around the hub for about five mintues.
Simply tapping the bearing from the opposite side, going all around the bearing so it comes out square should do it. Are you sure you have removed all the necessary circlips?
