I've always said... I would rather my son (10 years old & races) learn to ride and respect rules at a young age. If he doesn't learn now, as soon as he turns 18, he'll get a bike - "think" he knows how to ride a try to ride.

Looks like it ended with these results. You can view them under "View Past Polls".

Should there be age restrictions for riding a motor bike?

Whoo Hoooo! They probably took one look at Ivan's e-mail and the post results and lost intrest in the story. Knowing TV stations and I remind you it's not well but if popular opinion goes against their figures they will bury a story. I would encourage you all to send mail as to what happened to the poll and the story. I send(t) my condolences to the family but I would like to hear a public announcement to the poll.

Okie,
I hate you because you are so correct!!! I can only wish that this poll makes it to the front page. As I said before I doubt it will. This damn story will get nipped in the bud and move on to some poor kid getting nipped by a shark or something........Remember what I said about being relegated to the bottom page because it wen't against public opinion. I know it sucks......PK

I do agree with the atv age restrictions. Here is my reason.

An atv has 4 wheels, making it very stable while sitting still. A small 10 year old kid can just climb up onto a huge 600cc atv, and ride it, and possibly flip it over and injure himself. A dirtbike has 2 wheels and must be balanced by the rider. This pretty much weeds out too-small riders, because they need to be big enough to get on, balance, and kickstart the bike.

I don't and here is my reason.

Parents need to accept responsibility and use good judgement instead of blaming others and forcing the government to impose restrictions.
