Need some CR advice

I've got a '98 CR250. I have a very slight trans. fluid leak on the magneto side. I assume this is a seal leak. How difficult is this to fix?

Hot too hard... but get the factory Honda service manual, it will make the job a lot easier

You need the puller that fits into your flywheel to first get the flywheel off the conical fit. After that it's easy, you remove the old seal and put a new one.

I am assuming you mean the countershaft seal since you said a transmission fluid leak.
Transmission oil would not be leaking from the left side main seal, it would be 2cylce oil and in that case a possible air leak also. Either way the seals are easy to replace.

I've got the manual, but I don't speak Japanese too good.

the puller

check with your dealership and see if they sell a aftermarket universal
puller i got one 3 or 4 months ago
it only cost 20.00 nice addition to the ole tool box
gotta go good luck

I'm pretty sure that you can just pop the old one out with a flat bladed screw driver. Since you're replacing it who cares if you trash it. Just don't muck up the case.

Which seal?
Counter shaft, Clutch activation shaft, or crank?
If it is the countershaft seal, you should be able to get it out with a tire iron or screwdriver with the edges ground off.
If it is the clutch activation shaft seal, you will need to pull the flywheel & then pull out the activation arm. the seal may come out with it, if not use a dull screwdriver. I should come out fairly easy.
