New rider in CO :)

Greetings all...

Recently decided to spoil myself with a 30th B-day present and bought an XR400. I've been off a bike for close to 15 years and just chomping at the bit to get back into riding.

MX really ins't my thing, but I do love a nice trail/dunes ride and guess Colorado is right up my alley. Any suggestions for riding areas (close to Denver)? I have a few friends in the sport and they have recommended: Pubelo, Watkins, Captain Jack...and a few I can't seem to remember.
