I got my first KDX in 1992, got another in 1997, then tried a KLX 300 in 2002 (we won't discuss that mis adventure), and I just picked up a brand new out of the crate 2005 KDX 220.
On every single one of these bikes, the total lack of grease for the suspension linkage and steering bearings is unbeleavable. On this 220, the swingarm bearings were for all practicle purposes "dry as a bone". I won't even get into the fact the the air filter was not oiled either. So, to all new KDX owners out there, take the time to read the New Bike Prep write up under the Tech Section. It will be more than worth your time. Now I need to go back to the dealer and ask them just what it was I paid the "prep fee" for.
