NEW CHAT - OLD CHAT DIED

Yes, I use it for a couple of things.
I set my macromedia setting for DRN at 1mg, didn't seem to help.

When I first click the PIT, i get a white screen...it loads the smilies,etc...then says loading main chat screen. It completes the countdown and then goes to full white. Browser says page done. Thats as far as she goes.

Could it be that Mozilla being installed on my machine is causing a conflict of intetest??? (dont have Mozilla on, using IE6)

Just tried it for the first time ... had no problems what so ever. I use the latest version of Mozilla Firefox.

What happens to Jaybird is exactly what happens to me, I don't have mozilla on my machine though.

The first time I logged in I had the white screen for at least 5-10 minutes and thats on a T1 connection. Every time I log on now, I still have to sit at the white screen for 1-3 minutes.

Ok, so dialup at 28800 (at best) I should wait say....3.8 hours? :)

Surely there are issues afoot besides loading.

Jaybird, i had trouble with the whole site taking forever to load yesterday evening. It worked great earlier in the day and seems fine today.

Same as Jaybird here today. After loading it went to white.
I had no trouble yesterday.

There's got to be something in common here. I just haven't figured it out yet. When you guys say "goes to white", is there no text at all on the screen?

It's a white screen from the start...
It starts out with the following:

Loading Settings... (counts from 1-100%) OK
Loading Fonts... " " "
Loading Smilies... " " "
Loading Main Chat Window... " " "
Starting Chat System.... " " "

Once the Starting Chat System counts to 100%, the above writing disappears and thats it.

OK, it appears nikki was correct. I was just too daggone impatient.
I left the white screen up and about 10-15 mins later I was in.

Great chat btw.

Maybe I will get logged in faster now that I've made my initial entrance.

Yep, writing disappears but after about 10 seconds or so then chatroom appears for me.

The chat will load faster after the first time you go in.. it will cache all the images and stuff. Why it took more than 30 seconds the first time is beyond me?

I finally made it to new chat from work and weird things are afoot. I can insert smiles but not text. What on earth would cause that?? :(
