Hey there, I'm new to MX and need some help picking out a bike. I've gotten some really mixed feedback on what size bike to buy.

some people have told me to go for a 450 because of my size, some people have told me to go with a 250 because I'm new.

I'm a pretty big guy 6'4" 260lbs - 31 years old and pretty athletic so I'm not concerned about the weight of a bike, the power, however, is something I'm worried about. Is a 250 not enough power? is a 450 too much power?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I'll add my .02.

1) Your size says 450.
2) Power is controlled by your right wrist.
3) Unless you want to be looking for a bigger bike within a couple of months, just start with the 450.

Just take it easy and work your way into it. You'll be good to go.

Next question is brand? Pick a color, they're all good (Japanese and Euro bikes, do NOT buy anything from China).

Thanks for the info. I'm open to anything really. I found what seemed to be a fair-priced 2017 Kawasaki KX450 in my area. 6.5k with 17 miles on it
