I just bought a new hard terrain michelin tire for my motocross vehicle last summer. it still has so much grip left on it. BUT by the beed of the tire (the very outside of the rim) the tire is cracking! it is almost like it is dry rotted. My house recently got burnt down in november , so i have been keeping it outside.

Any help?

It seems wrong, but hard pack tires are actually a fairly soft compound tire. That's what causes them to grip better on hard ground.

They tend to not last nearly as a long as an intermediate tire.

How much riding did you do on that tire?

Well there you go. These kinds of tires don't last forever. They wear out quick.

If you're riding every day, don't expect a tire to last a full season. They just aren't designed to last that long.

I have a rear tire that my buddy from Bridgestone brought me. It has one race on it at Anaheim 3. It's still in good shape, for my needs, but it's definitely worn.

You need a new tire. How many different ways does this need to be said before it makes sense to you?

I'm not a pro, if I was, I wouldn't really care about tire issues.. That would be someone elses problem.

I do have a certain amount of common sense, and can tell when my tires are junk.
