Hey guys new to forum and dirt bikes. Last night i picked up a 1985 Honda CR200R for 150. guy said it might need a valve job and and top end rebuild. he said the bike was also sitting for ten years. overall bike is in excellent shape except cosmeticlly. My questions is what are some pointers to getting the bike to start? What should I do first? It has oil and I put fuel in it and it has a leak on the fuel valve. Any help would be great. thanks

Do you mean XR200R?

I don't think there has ever been a Honda CR200R.

Take the float bowl off the carb and inspect, clean as necessary. Drain the tank and get some fresh gas. Put in a new spark plug.

sorry (newb) xr200r is what i meant. :bang:

anyways got home from work and took off the plastics to get a better view at what i'm dealing with, overall looks in decent shape as far as electrical and frame goes. pulled the plug and it needs to be changed out. Is there anyway to rebuild th fuel valve? And when i kick the kick start down sometimes it doesn't retract to the top, is there a remedy or area that might be able to lube?
