newer plastic on 97 KX250

This may be a crazy question but will newer plastic fit on a 97 KX250 without major modifications? I am particularly interested in using a newer front number plate (from 03-04) and front fender (03-04). I know plastics were the same up until 2002 and then were changed for a more updated look. Does anyone have any suggestions without major work and/or cosmetic problems? Thanks.

The front fender would probably fit, but you will have to find a way to mount the front # plate. On my '97 KX250 I had a bolt run thru the plate into the upper clamp to secure it from the front. The new KX's don't mount the # plate the same way. The bolt is behind the plate. Don't know if it will "fit" or not though. Hope this helps.
