Niday Training Complex (Milam Creek MX)

Looks like the target date for opening is going to be the beginning of June. Finally! A track that's a little closer to home and I don't think this one will get shut down due to noise for many years. It's next to a drag strip and cart track.

finally, it is going to be reopened. hopefully, it will attract enough riders that it will stay open this time. the track is built into the side of a hill so there are jumps actually going up/down hills. that is if it is being built on the same part of the property. i really liked this track when it was open before. dirt is like badlands.

i'll bring my ascot and run that 1/8 mile track. heck, i'll run my cr too, if they will let me.

No website yet (that I know of). Shannon Niday bought the place and it now looks like they are shooting for the end of June. No idea of operating days/hours but I'll update if I run across anything. It should be interesting to see how they prep it. From what I understand... it's a real bitch keeping the track soft because of the hill. I nice drenching rain and all improvements wash away... I've never seen the track but who knows... there may be a way to contain/control runoff.

I guess it's going to be called Niday Training Complex.

Did Niday "buy" it or signed a lease contract? I used to ride their often but the lessee had to bail because of the exorbitant lease payment. The elevation change was nice.

Ahh nevermind, got this from Shannon's wife on her myspace:

We are building a training complex just north of Denton, TX. It will be open to the public Tuesdays and Thursdays starting in July-we are hoping. We may have one weekend a month open to the public but this track is mostly for our mx schools. The goal is not to have the "premier" track of Texas, but to give you guys another place to ride around Dallas.

We had a few guys out there riding on what's been done so far and they have all loved it so far! I am so excited about this! There will be someone living there, so don't be thinking that you can sneak out there and ride, haha.

We are cleaning it up the best we can. I have the woods all clear of briars and have it all nice and mowed, it is actually pretty out there. There are electric and water spots being put out there for motorhomes and trailers that will be rented out by the day, week, month, and even by the year. Yep, already have several spots sold for the year-woo hoo! The yearly ones include a certain amount of classes and physical training.

Not sure I understand tho... they won't normally have practice on weekends? Rest of the time is schools only?

Shannon was the fastest thing on two wheels for two laps back in the day. To bad he didn't have the endurance to last more then a few laps due to his life style. He could have gone much further then he did.

Nothing wrong with another place to ride though! :cool:
