No power band

Alright, i have a 2000 CR125 and the top end power seems to be gone. It used to pull like crazy once it hit the power band but that seems to be gone now that i got it back after getting it rebuilt. I am guessing it is the power valve but i'm not sure why. It starts with 1-2 kicks and idles great. Everything seems to be normal until you start hitting higher revs, then it starts doggin'. Any help would be great.

You have guessed intelligently. Inspect the PV.

and if that isn't it (I know nothing of power valves really) then it sounds to me like a jetting issue.
I'm going to go look up power valves :)
