Mark Spitz... er... Papakeith, for his impressive display on how NOT to cross a water hole. Or was that a swimming lesson? Anyhoo, at least he wasn't wearing a Speedo! :eek:
Keith - I think we should rename it the Spodefest Nor'east. I'm sure with everybody's input we can organize another little 'fest someplace.

That sounds good, NY has very little to offer in the way of motorsports parks, in Mass. & Penn you will find more proffesional parks willing to cater to our fest. Something more like Casey Ill. that'll have an MX track along with some marked H/S loops. I'll do some looking!

I think the whole group deserves a spodely thumbs up with honorable mentions going to those who deserve them.(You know who you are!)
I will be leaving for Sturgis, South Dakota on Aug 3rd and returning Aug 14th. If any definite plans are made for a spodefest just include me in. I'll be ready! blast me an E-mail someone so I know.

Modena is really great! I have received a couple of E-Mails pertaining to a place called TRAXX. It is near Wilkes-Barre, PA. The web address is www.big2resorts.com. they have everything we need and can accomodate us all. Full camping area. They have a full MX track with big air jumps. 2 small practice MX tracks and a mini track for little spodes. They have 3 trails 10/6/3 miles long and solid rock. Rocky, is an understatement! You have to go on a weekday. It gets so packed on a weekend they start letting bikes go in small groups for 15 minutes at a time. Riding time then ited. If it rains it turns into 2 foot of MUD. I'm not kidding. I wont go if it had rained within 2 days. It is futile to try riding and not fun in the least. Thats your update. Let me know.

I'm probably heading up to Eagle Bridge to check the place out over Labor Day weekend. Anyone care to meet me up there?

Im trying to find Eagle Bridge via Mapquest.com, but am hitting a wall down here. How far is that from the island? Anyone?

Wayne , they are located by the intersections of Rt.67 and 22 .Take the Thruway to I-87 No. and get off at exit 9 , take a right at the end of the exit and follow rt 146 to Mechanicville . Then turn LEFT on to rts 4 and 32 to head into town . After passing under the RR tracks you will see a McDonalds , turn right , take your next left . Rt 67 should be on your right in the center of town , follow it to EBMX .The sign is very small and on the right hand side of the road . If you get to rt 22 you went to far . Not sure if EBMX is going to be the place yet. Need to contact the owner/operator and get some details ironed out first. We have planned the EBMX scouting trip for Labor Day (Sept. 3rd). Nothing wrong with Modena, but it'd be nice to check out another place.
Also, not everyone has responded to the date selection poll. They have until Monday. So far it's a tie between the 4-6 and 11-13 dates.

Thats cool. I just wanted to let my fellow spodes know that Modena will be vastly improved the next time we make it back there-besides I want to check out a new place anyway! the owner has gotten rid of Goober, and is updating the area as we speak.

Either weekend works for us, I guess. Both have either an Enduro or HS scheduled for that Sunday.

Hi everyone. Been missing DRN for a bit. Well, for me it looks like either weekend will be fine OR neither weekend will be fine. Believe it or not my finger is still pretty screwed up from the Modena outing. What I thought was "just a cut" as I described to my wife, has screwed me up pretty good. Of course I didn't go to the doctor when I got back. My EXPERT medical opinion was...... nothing broken- throw on some band aids- good as new. WRONG! Went to the doctor this week. Still can't bend it and it's still kind of swollen (a month later :think ). Now he's sending me to an orthopedic hand specialist to check what kind of damage I caused. Also put me on some medication to prevent a bone infection. This sucks. One little finger and so much trouble. Anyway if the finger is fixed I should be good for either weekend but if not I'll have to sit this one out.:(
