OEM piston (why?) vs. Aftermarket

I've heard many things, but people have told me I should use an OEM piston to rebuild my top end instead of Wiseco or Vertex. I'm really doubtful about that, especially since Wiseco claims to have tighter tolerances. Does anyone have any info on this? I really don't want to buy OEM - it's too expensive.

Everybody has their own opinion about pistons. I have been using Vertex pistons in my bikes for several years and have had great luck with them.
