I have a 1997 RM 125 and just ordered a new top end kit for it. I bought a wiseco pro-lite and when the piston arrived and I went to install it, I noticed there was a disclaimer on the rings saying that it is not for use in chrome plated cylinders. I was just wondering why this was and if anyone has actually had any problems by runnning this piston and rings. I don't want to have to wait another week and a half for a different piston or have to buy the OEM rings for this piston. HELP

Unless you sent it to the local Hawg Emporium to have the plating replaced, your cylinder isn't chrome plated, so why are you worrying? The cylinder is plated with a nickel/silicon composite (hence the name Nicasil). The Wiseco rings will be fine.

I was under the impression that older rms came factory with chrome plated cylinder walls and that is why you can't bore them out without getting them resleeved first
