Are the less expensive $3-4 paper oil filters just as good as the $10 honda oil filters?

is is worth it to spend the money on the honda filter?

or is it a case of high priced honda parts?

thanks for the input

I've used both and haven't noticed any difference in my XR. As long as you change them on some sort of schedule, you should be ok. I've used Honda, Fram & Emgo. They are probably all made in the same factory and packaged differently because I've compared them side by side and they appear identical even down to the stamped writing on them.

I switched from honda to no-name when I had my 400ex (same as xr400) and didn't notice any difference other than the 5-6 buck I saved every oil change.

Give on a try and see for yourself.

I change mine on my YZ250F enough that I use the off-brand and have not had any issues.

In my 2003 CRF I used to use the off-brands too without any issue.

I have tried the Scott's SS filters and got tired of cleaning them so I went back to the disposables.
