Greetings to all of the group. I am a 52 year old kid who has been riding 40 years and can't ride fast anymore due to injuries and arthritis but Celebrex and a stubborn streak keep me going. I still love to go out as often as I can find someone to go with. I still race(?) cross-country and my idea of practice is generally a brisk trailride. I will get on an MX track every once in awhile, just to remind myself how I don't like MX that much :) most of the people I used to ride with have stopped riding and the new people I have met are all younger, and don't like riding as slow as I sometimes go. I like to stop and look at the scenery at Muenster, and I like to savor every outing because there aren't nearly enough nice weekends in a year to go riding. I hope to contribute to this group every so often and maybe meet some of the members and go riding sometime. I just wanted to say hello to everybody

Welcome to DRN Penguin. Tony will be along shortly to greet you properly, but until then, enjoy the reading. I too aspire to keep riding till it kills me.
Keep an eye out for people from the North Texas Smack Pack, they hook up and ride quite often. They also talk a lot of.....well.... you get the point. Enjoy, and if ever in NM., Look me up. I'm always up for a nice slow jaunt across the desert! ;) YZ165

Hey, YZ165: I'm planning a trip to New Mexico mid-March. My sons and I have been doing this for years; we camp near Alamogordo and ride three or four days in the area. Maybe you'd like to meet up with us while we're there and do some desert riding? We're tentatively planning to be there March 17-21.

Thanks for the invite JMD. Not sure I'll make it though. I will be racing the Tarantula 100 desert race there in two weeks. Last year I tried to sell my bike after the race! LOL 100 miles of whooped out sand has a way of killing my desire to ride. But, drop me a line before you go. I may have hit my head and lost my memory sometime between the race and your trip. YZ165

Welcome to the site penguin

I see where you have gone to your User CP and updated information relating to your location. Grab a spot on the couch and tell us a bit about yourself.

I was born and raised in FTW and still think highly of that side of the metromess. Regarding age, I have 2 years on you and don't plan on giving up until I can no longer lift the bike back up off the ground. After watching Malcolm at DW and reading about Yound Ted in the Michigan Mafia forum, we have a few years to go yet!

Again, welcome to the site, and shout if you have any questions!

Welcome!
Be sure and check out the Enduro circuits, BJEC and TSCEC. There are some beautiful areas that can be ridden, plus the sweep crews will haul you out if you can't make it...

the sweep crews always cringe in terror whenever I show up to any event. I always pick the most remote parts of the course to stop and sample the soil, then take an extended rest break ;)
