Just curious as to weather anyone is running a one piece bar clamp? If so what brand and how do you like it? Do they make one to fit Pro Taper Bars? When you purchased it, does it come with new mounting cones? Can you mount a enduro computer to it ? My son rides a '99 KDX 220 and would like to install a set of Pro Tapers. Sorry for all the questions but I would like to know before I buy!!

Thanks in advance

I have one from Fredette Racing Products (www.frpoffroad.com) with a set of 7/8" Renthals, and it works great. Stock rubber cones. Helps prevent the bar from getting tweaked/out of alignment after banging trees or dropping the bike.

I don't see any reason why it would prevent you from mounting an enduro computer.

I also have the fredette, love it. it took the wandering sensation out of the front end. i have crashed / dropped the bike sevearal times and bars are still straight in clamps. I am using 7/8 renthal bars ( CR hi bend), havent bent them yet either

I have the protaper bars on my 250. When I bought the setup, I got the complete new clamps (not the top clamp, but the bar clamps). I also ordered the 1 piece Accutrax ProTaper top clamp and aluminum cones.

The setup works really well. Much more solid feel to the bike. There is no more vibration than with the rubber mounts, could be the bars there. You can still tweak the setup like stock on a harder hit, but grabbing the front wheel and twisting fixes that. I guess it is better than bending bars.

The protapers are some tuff bars. I have not bent them yet in a years riding with plent of contact!

...try reversing your bar clamps as it seems to have prevented my bars from getting twisted on crashes....good luck....
