Anyone racing?

I'm considering but I've never done it before. It looks so intimidating for a beginner like me. My buddy that has done a couple is trying to talk me into it. He crashed hard last year in the qualifier and still finished, bent bars & all, and made it to the main. He said he rolled every jump and still qualified.

I'm really not worried about how good I do, what worries me is that about 40 people got carted out on a stretcher last year. Everything from broken ribs, legs, collar bones, ankles, wrists and so on. I'm afraid that adrenaline will kick in and I will do something stupid and beyond my capabilities. I think I'll post this part in one of the other forums for advice.

If you have never tried it before.......do it.! I finally got to try one in New Mexico lasy year and I was totall hooked. I was in beginner class at the time and rolled all but one easy jump and qualified just fine. The promotions group that put on the Waco race is doing one in Midland Texas in a couple of weeks that we are going to race. If you go, let me know how it was so we can have a better idea of what to look for here.

Jason, I've got pics of the track. If you want them let me know.
By the way, they've reversed the track this year, a lot of right hand turns including the 1st turn. Very different.

Yeah I would like to see them. If they do run right hand here, it would be an advantage for us local guys as our local outdoor track ir run that way. How was the turn out in Waco?
