I have a 96 1500 Ext. Cab. Trying to get the spare down to install a hitch. The tube the connects to the winch is not connected anymore. The pin has come out or fallen out. The tube just turns and I could pull it all the way out if I removed the bumper. Is there a way to get the thing down without cutting the cable and getting a new winch.
I thought about letting the air out of the tire so I get the winch, but not sure I would be able to turn it or even get at it as the tire might be to stiff to pull down.
Is the crank on the winch (that the tube mounts to) round or Square?
Any suggestions would be great!
