Pastrana may be out until May 12

After a successful surgery yesterday afternoon to have his tonsils taken out, it appears that Team SoBe Suzuki's Travis Pastrana will be out for the remainder of the 2002 AMA EA Sports Supercross Series. Pastrana, 18 years old, has struggled with his health ever since an infection developed in his throat after he had a procedure to fix a chronic sinus problem that has plagued him for five years. He has not raced since dropping out the Daytona SX. At that race, Travis won his heat race by a wide margin and was running in second in the main event when he literally fainted. Now some doctors are saying that it might be six weeks before he can ride, but Pastrana plans on giving himself 14 days on the couch before he starts training. After that, he hopes to ride the first couple of 250 Nationals to get some points, then pick up the pace as he heals.

Passing him by? Might that not be a tad bit harsh? C'mon the kids 18, not 38 cut him some slack. He's got another 15 years of racing ahead of him. If he wants it. :think:not so sure he does.
Let him heal, head, tonsils, whatever, or his carreer, whatever path he chooses, truely will be passing him by.

I am actually happy he will sit out the remainder of the SX season.

I'm hoping to see a 100% Pastrana whip up on everyone in the Nationals.
Hopfully this break allows everything to heal & lets him get his focus back.
