Does any one know the spring rates for the various PDS Springs? Some one posted about them a while back and I can't seem to find the post anymore. Any help would be appreciated!

PDS-0=6.5/8.3
PDS-1=7.0/9.0
PDS-2=7.5/9.7
PDS-3=8.0/10.3
PDS-4=8.5/11.0
PDS-5=6.6/8.6
PDS-6=7.15/9.05
PDS-7=7.6/9.5
PDS-8=8.1/9.95

Also note that the PDS-5 thru 8 are 265mm long and will not fit '98 - '00 shocks (at least, not withou modifying the adjuster ring).

Anything else?

Great Chart.
Any idea what the stock spring on the '98 380 MXC is?
It feels too light for me. 200lbs, Intermediate H.S. and occasioanl MX. Any reccommendation?

I had a `98 300MXC , mine came with straight rate 8.0kg on the back and .40kg in the forks.

I ran 8.8 on back and .44 in the front for 220lbs. The rates were recomended by White Bros.

I hate to keep dragging this subject up....but......
My stock '98 PDS spring says 8.0 - 250.
From these posts do I interpret that as a Straight rate, 8.0 kg/mm, 250 mm long spring?
It is too soft. Would changing to a PDS 2 (8.0 / 10.3 ) help?

Max,
I believe the PDS-2 was stock for the 380, it was on my 2000 and I don't think the rates changed during that time. If it is a PDS-2, it may be to light. Some posts in the past(ktm/euro) have noted that setting the race sag properly for heavier guys on the stock springs would lead to elimination of the lighter rate portion of the progressive spring making the ride very harsh. Is this what is happening?

After all that rambling, I weigh 240lbs and have installed a pds-4 on my 2000 380. With this, my race sag and static sag are within tolerance and the ride is much smoother.

Hope this helps,

PDS-2 was the stock spring on the '98
380MXC.

I would try a PDS-3 if you can find one. I put a straight rate spring on my '99 380 and did not like the way it performed. I have a stock PDS on my 300, and it is fine.
