Hey guys I've got a 2007 RM 250, the previous owner says it has a wiseco high compression piston and I have a few questions... The bike has been bogging through the bottom end, and it seems like my old stock RM 250 had more compression. Now when the bike heats up, the kicker feels like a slush box and the bike won't start so I'm guessing its time for new rings. I'm having some problems locating wiseco piston rings alone, and the stealership says they can only get me a whole wiseco top end kit. Can I run a set of OEM rings with a wiseco piston, or am I going to have to buy the whole top end kit? :bang:

It appears wiseco offers one style piston for the '07 RM-250. Three different sizes, but one style of piston. They also list rings for this piston. Contact Wiseco. Do not attempt to run OEM rings on Wiseco piston.
Also, don't order your rings until you pull your cylinder and see what you have.
If he told you he has a wiseco high compression piston in your two stroke, he might just be wrong.

Hmmm okay so you can't run oem rings with a wiseco piston, gotcha. I'm pretty sure he has a high compression piston in there, its an ex ama pro race bike...

If you're smart, you'll replace the piston with the rings..

They're only designed to run about 10 hours.

If you don't and you have a lot of hours on it, you run a serious risk of breaking off the skirt, and doing a lot of damage to the cylinder.. Don't risk it.. The money you save by not replacing it isn't worth it.

http://www.wiseco.com, Its everything including the small end bearing. High compression? They offer a-b,c,and d, they are .001" bigger each in diameter, oversize, not high compression. You should have the bore actually measured.
