Now that Rampart Range is closed :ugg: , I need to find new places to ride after work. Does anybody know of any places to ride that are within 1.5 hours from Denver and are not closed due to fire?

Here in Colorado Springs, we're talking about meeting at the local mx track after work on Wednesday evenings. It's close and you can ride 'till dark. Isn't as good as a trail ride, but at least ya get some time in during the week. (heavy sigh.)

Other than tracks you mean? There is close mountain riding in Idaho Springs, Empire and Breckenridge. You can get maps at any MC shop.

Yea, I prefer to ride trails. I live only 15 minutes from Thunder Valley but I get bored riding through the same dirt too often. I rode Loch Lomand and Chins last week. For me, 4x4 roads are O.K. but not near as fun as single track. I’m trying to find some single track but 4x4 roads will be O.K., too. My next trip I’m going to go up Cumberland gulch and see what’s behind Central City.
